Análisis y opinión de Value Investing from Graham to Buffett and Beyond
As you know, before starting to analyze a book I like to make a short introduction about its authors. The main author of the book is value investing in the most profitable investment technique consistently. To do this, the authors explore the history of this methodology and attempt to explain some basic guidelines for the practical application of this investment style.
The book is divided into 3 parts. The first part has a small but quite comprehensive introduction to value investing. In the second part, the authors analyze the 3 sources of value of the companies (the value of the assets, the value of the profits and the value of the potential growth), with specific examples of several real companies. Finally, the third part of the book analyzes the profiles of the following 8 value investors:
- Warren Buffett
- Mario Gabelli
- Glenn Greenberg
- Robert Heilbrunn
- Seth Klarman
- Michael Price
- Walter y Edwin Castle
- Paul Sonkin
The book perfectly combines theory with practical examples to understand how value investing works. In addition, it explains everything in a simple way without being simplistic, so its level is suitable for people already initiated who want to go to a higher level.
The biggest drawback that some of you may have when enjoying this great book is that it has not been translated into Spanish yet, so if you do not master the language of Shakespeare it may be difficult for you to understand it. However, this book is a good excuse to practice English as we learn the world of investing.
